Yep. Some evil-dirty CLEX doujinshi...Smallville smut in color, bitches! I've been assured by the douhinshika that Lex is indeed on the back. Works for me. Buwha! This is actually pretty good, and the doujinshi itself is free online to anyone who wants to read it. Since I know certain editors at certain companies read my blog, I wont get link happy here--the odds are, if you're into Smallville slash, you know about PL Nunn, and you know she's made the book available to anyone who wants it online for free, and in print for a price. Full color, 66 pages, perfect bind--MINE.
I'm not even into Smallville slash [or any hero-slash for that matter--I still can't get my head around why anyone would think Tim Drake is gay...go figure] but I enjoy this creators fiction a great deal [to be honest, I like her fics more than her comics--but Sliver was good!], and I especially love her latest Smallville fic, Chasing Redemption. Good schtuff.
I spent the day trying to write a blurb for 'Lost', the manuscript hasn't even been to the editor yet. The cover art and back cover image are ready, and now it's just a matter of me pounding out the back-copy text. I've sent my first attempt off to fresh eyes [my poor friends and author-acquaintances] because what 'reads' as ok to me, is usually a sign that it's crap.
Cut for Writery Things:
I polished up the outlines today for my next two graphic novels [I talked about Cataldo! before, I wont rewind]; and found that it needed some serious plot tightening. I also sent off the scenes to Burn Me Naked, to a fresh pair of eyes because I'm in the air about if I should keep it 'BL' or remove the BL elements and make it an action piece. Still haven't touched 'The Whore of Turfan' since getting that rejection from Class Comics. I thought I'd novelize it, but I've found that as much as I like reading novels, I'm much better at writing graphic novels. Prose is just not my forte. Sure, I can do it--but it's not something I enjoy. :(
I saw this report at Comipress about the recent licensing of my titles Only Words and Roulette. Lord, Only Words is not published by Dramaqueen--and where is the link to Iris Print? I commented in my private diary about the crush bloggers seem to have on Dramaqueen. Any mention is worth mention...even if it's minor and pretty inconsequential. Honestly--no link to the OW publisher, there's no mention of my original script sales to Wild Side [hey, I'm making two original-German manga here!] and the erroneous attachment of both my US titles to DQ? :/ Come on...these guys got it right, anyone speak German? I still love you Comipress...you're the most together news source out there, and I can't live without updates from you, every morning. :) [oh and for you mystery pub who lurks here--feel free to get butthurt on behalf of Comipress, since my talking about their error here hurts GloBL overall.] /snark.
I got paid today--direct deposit. My bank is Chase, and I'll never understand this policy of withholding a large chunk of the money, just because it's a high number deposit. It's my bank account, and the deposit is being made directly by another bank...why exactly do they need to hold any amount of these funds for? Do you really think the company I write for is a front for terrorists, or drug runners, or the Russian mob. Oh wait, I am a Kolesnik, ain't I? ((=_=)); They did this to my spouse recently, as well--but this one was truly hilarious. We refinanced Casa-Crat in January, and got a check in the mail--nothing major, about 4-digits. Well, they tell him at the deposit window that only $500 will be available, because this whole amount will take about 11 days to clear. Here's the kicker...we asked why this was [not that we needed the cash at the time, but still] and she said: we have to get proper clearance from the other bank. Ok...check it out...our bank is Chase, and we refinanced---with Chase!! Head hurt yet? I suppose I could act like Piccoult's Diana Prince, and just behave as if I've never dealt with a bank before [seriously, Wondy not knowing what a credit card was?? She worked at a fast-food joint for crying out loud!] and try to point out the absurdity of such a policy, but why shoot the messenger?
