I got an inks spread from Games With Me, my 2 volume series that's being published first in Germany, by publisher The Wild Side. News item here and from the publisher, in German and English. Scheduled release is for the end of 2008/start of 2009. Artist is fellow RUSH alum, Lynsley Brito. Also picked up by Wild Side, my RUSH series Roulette, will be printed in its own volume! I've been getting some irritated email about this, and I just want to say--sorry. Roulette is near completed, and it's not down to me or Laura Carboni that it's not being printed in English. :( Yes we're creators, but this is a business too, and having Roulette languish in obscurity is not good business. We took the offer from Wild Side because the publisher loved the book, and Roulette is a perfect entry into the German market for Laura. She'd done artbook work with Fireangels Verlag, and found the audience receptive. We're not leaving Dramaqueen, nor are the English language rights to Roulette for sale, at this time.
Also licensed by Wild Side is Only Words [published by Iris Print], and my unpublished BL called Loud Snow, illustrated by Amelie Belcher.
[Click image at right, for full size preview] In this scene, George has stopped off at his favorite opium den; and Sung is his usual attendant. Yes, back then, some of the first laws against opium were leveled only at Chinese communities--these laws reeked of racial-bias, but prohibiting 'white men' from using opium was the last thing on the minds of lawmakers in California. The laws were worded strangely, and one law [which didn't last long] made it technically illegal for owners of Opium dens to 'sell opium'; so the owners would sell 'space' to dealers, and the dealers would charge a rent for use of their space. If the space-owners chose to sell opium to their 'the renters' well...that wasn't against the law. LOL!

Honestly, why do some fans insist that rich character development is based on 'how good' a person becomes? What, there's no such thing as toxic-people? Get real. I'm toxic, and I do just fine--and you know what, people benefit from disliking me, or, working with me. It's bastards like Jason Todd that enrich the character of the 'good guys' you all seem to adore, so much. Embrace the toxic, you wont get hurt.
*PS - Dead Wordpress...this post took me a half-hour to make when it could've just taken me about 10 minutes. The new javascript-interface for uploading images and media really stinks. It's slow and it makes the whole process, a chore. Please give me an option to avoid it, or--FIX IT.
Thanks, Love Crat.
